MISSION Group agencies to open UK House: Commonwealth Games Business Hub

As eyes of the world turn to Birmingham for this summer’s Commonwealth Games, MISSION Group agencies Bray Leino Events and Speed will support the Department for International Trade (DIT) as they host sports stars, leading diplomats, international investors, dignitaries, and businesses at the UK House: Commonwealth Games Business Hub.

UK House: The Commonwealth Business Hub will host a major programme of trade and investment events as part of the Commonwealth Games Business and Tourism Programme – welcoming international VIPs to promote the UK’s position as a world-class destination for trade, investment, education, and tourism.

Bray Leino Events has transformed the four floors of Birmingham’s iconic Exchange building, a former banking hall, into a business meeting and events centre – inspired by the official UK Business & Tourism Programme (BATP) branding.

Across each day of the games, UK House will showcase the best of British innovation and creativity across seven key sectors: Food and Drink, Education, Data-Driven Healthcare, Sports Economy, Creative and Digital Technologies, Future Mobility, and Tourism.

Speed’s PR and communication specialists are working closely with DIT, The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and the West Midlands Growth Company to deliver integrated stakeholder communications, international press, and social media amplification of the event programme across the seven key sectors. Key messages include the economic benefits brought to the UK and its Commonwealth partners through international trade and investment, as well as UK international policy priorities such as climate change, sustainability, and innovation.

Inside the Exchange, Bray Leino Events have designed a branded environment where dignitaries and diplomats can meet by day or enjoy a drink by night, with a selection of private meeting rooms, lounges, workspaces, and a special interactive experience showcasing innovation and creativity from around Birmingham, the West Midlands, and the rest of the UK.

The building’s historic underground bank vault has been transformed into an intimate space for drinks receptions and VIP dinners.

And with big screens live streaming the action from the games throughout, the atmosphere inside the Exchange banking hall is carefully designed to aid business by evoking the excitement and camaraderie of the stadium.
