Looking back on 2017 – our event highlights
As 2017 draws to a close, it’s a good opportunity to look back and reflect on what’s been happening and to start planning for a busy 2018! Here’s a round-up of some of our favourite events and experiences that we delivered this year:
UK Space Conference, Manchester, UK
After successfully delivering the UK Space Conference 2015, Bray Leino Events were delighted to win the contract for the second time. The team were determined to deliver a conference that would be bigger and better for 2017. Tasked with bringing together industry, academia and government from within the thriving space community, our Event Management team truly delivered on this brief and received excellent feedback from delegates, speakers and exhibitors. Read more about it here.
MWC, Barcelona, Spain
Mobile World Congress (MWC) is THE event for anyone in the world of mobile technology. With well over 100,000 attendees and over 2,000 exhibitors, the show is hugely influential for anyone working in this field. Our Fintech team have been attending this show for many years and are well versed in creating and delivering outstanding exhibition spaces where our clients can develop new business and learn about new products and services in this fast-moving industry. Preparations are already well underway for the 2018 show which takes place in February so watch this space.
Ideal Home Show, London, UK
Whilst most of our work is in the B2B world, we do also attend a few shows which are aimed at consumers, and it’s always great to be involved in these events. The Ideal Home Show is a firm favourite – always busy and bustling, and the high-quality Miele exhibition stand that we create year on year is always a hit. Read more about some of the work that we do with Miele here.
The Skills Show, Birmingham and London, UK
The Skills Show is a large exhibition for young people to learn about future career opportunities that are available to them in areas that they may not have previously considered. As the official events agency for HS2, we were excited to work on a highly interactive and experiential exhibition space for them at this year’s show. We were thrilled to see that the space attracted so much interest – it was always busy with people learning and interacting with the brand and even attracted attention from leading Government figures! We are delighted to continue our relationship with HS2 and to create ever more exciting and engaging experiences for them in 2018.
Sibos, Toronto, Canada
Sibos is the world’s premier financial services event for the global financial community, bringing senior financial delegates together in one place every year for a conference, exhibition and networking opportunities. Our Fintech team have been taking clients to this show for many years and were on hand not only to deliver the exhibition stands, but also to help clients with their presentations, hospitality events, and a host of things in between.
International Amusement Park & Attractions (IAAPA) Expo, Florida, USA
After winning a significant events contract for DIT (read more here), we have been busy delivering many high-profile events for them across the world. One recent highlight was the IAAPA expo in Florida, where we delivered the UK stand for DIT which incorporated 22 UK companies and one stand partner, a mischievous humanoid robot named RoboThespian.
Highlights of the event included a UK company winning the Brass Ring prize for best new product, the robot (of course), and an off-site networking reception at an indoor skydiving centre. It was a successful week of business with post-event feedback suggesting a very high level of projected export wins. We received some wonderful feedback and look forward to continuing our work with DIT going forward.
Offshore Europe, Aberdeen, UK
We have a dedicated team who specialise in creating exhibition spaces for the Energy sector, and the SPE Offshore Europe show is always a highlight. We were delighted to see that the spaces we delivered for our clients were so well received, with lots of opportunities for meetings and networking. The VR zone that we created for Wood Group was a particular favourite, allowing attendees to engage with the brand in a fun and interactive way.
New client wins
We have been privileged to win contracts with several new clients to help deliver their global event programmes, and we look forward to continuing to build these relationships as we move into 2018. Some of our new clients include:

- HS2 – as the high-speed rail project gets underway, we are proud to be the official events supplier for HS2, organising a range of events to help them engage with a variety of stakeholders, from suppliers through to attracting new talent
