From the ocean floor to the expo floor

What does it take to wow trade-show crowds in heavy industry – cost-effectively?

Effectively demonstrating technology at exhibitions in a crowd-pulling way is a conundrum for many industrial businesses.

When that technology is the size of a bus, that challenge is bigger still.

Which is why maritime engineering businesses have traditionally relied on scale models to demonstrate their technology at trade exhibitions.

But not only are those models expensive to manufacture and costly to ship, everyone has them.

Fugro, the deep-sea mapping and survey specialists, asked us to help them do something better, something that would reflect their hard-won reputation for innovation.

So we did. Our digital experts made them the only exhibitor on the maritime circuit with an intuitive, engaging (and cost-saving) augmented reality (AR) experience.

Our app meant potential customers could view, zoom, walk around and interact with multiple examples of Fugro’s mega-sized machinery.

And what’s more, Fugro now have a proven platform to develop an interactive sales tool that can travel with them outside the trade shows, on the road to meet customers, all for the price of a single traditional expo model.

Our team have been helping Fugro with their international exhibition programme for many years, and typically we help them exhibit at 20+ shows per year across 5 continents.

“I was on the Fugro stand last week at Gastech Singapore and we were honoured to have Bray Leino Events as our team on the ground. I just wanted to express my appreciation for all your hard work, ingenuity and general helpfulness during the event. It was my first time attending one of these events and it was great to have such professional and competent support.”
